Tonii Wajayi Skeen

Tonii Wajayi Skeen is a respected young, community change-maker and stands proud as descendent of the Yawuru, Jabirr Jabirr, Bardi Jawi, Nyikina, Ngarinyin,Bunuba and Jaru peoples of the Kimberley region. Extensive, varied experience in Aboriginal Affairs and Community Development has seen Tonii employed at various local and peak Aboriginal organisations. Currently Tonii leads the Empowered Young Leaders Project which advocates for young people in our region and lead informed decisions that impact them. 

EYL actively partners with agencies and services involved in decisions and service delivery, enabling authentic co-design and collaboration with Kimberley Aboriginal young people. Tonii uses her own life experiences growing up, along with her peers to create a voice and drive change for young people. The EYL has been supported by all peak Aboriginal organisations in the Kimberley and funded by The WA Department of communities.
